DLA (formerly the Coalition on Donation) was founded by the transplant community in 1992 to educate the public about organ, eye and tissue donation and avoid duplication of effort. DLA manages the national donate life registry. Its mission is to drive individuals, organizations, and communities to increase the number of designated organ, eye, and tissue donors who save and heal lives. DLA’s vision is a nation that embraces organ, eye and tissue donation as a fundamental human responsibility.
